How to Install CodeIgnitor Manually on Local or Remote Server 1:3

In this tutorial, you will learn how to install CodeIgniter manually on either a local or remote server. CodeIgniter is compatible with all hosting types and has a very tiny footprint.

Installing CodeIgniter on Local Environment (XAMPP)

Download the most recent version of CodeIgniter from the CodeIgniter.com.

How to Setup CodeIgniter on Local or Remote Server

In the htdocs folder, create a new folder and give it the name for Example My-project, unzip your CodeIgniter files and folders in your fresh folder.

How to Setup CodeIgniter on Local or Remote Server

Open the configuration file located at (/config/config.php) & change the base_url.

$config[‘base_url’] = “http://localhost/Folder name/“;

To check whether or not CodeIgniter has been installed successfully, open the link below in your browser.

http://localhost/Folder name

Remember to replace Folder name with your folder name, In my case http://localhost/My-project.

Install CodeIgniter Manually on Server (Cpanel)

Download the most recent version of CodeIgniter from the CodeIgniter.com.

How to Setup CodeIgniter on Local or Remote Server

  • Log in to your cPanel dashboard and Go to your Files Manager.
  • Upload the CodeIgniter zip file on installation directory of your cPanel and unzip the package.

Open the configuration file located at (/config/config.php) & change the base_url.

$config[‘base_url’] = “http://www.Yourdomain.com“;

Remember to replace “YourDomain.com” with your Domain name, For example. “CodersStuff.com”.

To check whether or not CodeIgniter has been installed successfully, open the link below in your browser.

http://YourDomain.com
